The other candidate is Anthony Healy, previously the head of BNZ, who returned to run NAB's business bank in January last year. Interestingly, Mentis and Healy were the NAB's third and fourth-highest paid executives in 2018 (after Thorburn and NAB's chief technology officer Patrick Wright), pocketing $3.01 million and $2.95 million respectively.
Armonica Technologies, an Albuquerque, New Mexico-based firm developing long-read DNA sequencing technology, has appointed Victor Esch as president and CEO. Esch has more than twenty years of executive and technical experience in the medical device industry, including as CEO of DNA Electronics and CEO of nanoMR, which DNA Electronics acquired in 2015. Esch was a founder of Powervision, which was acquired by Alcon in 2019. He also previously served as chief technology officer for EndoVasix.
Precision medicine software firm LifeOmic has named Ed Simcox as its new chief strategy officer. Simcox joins LifeOmic from the US Department of Health and Human Services, where he served as chief technology officer and acting chief information officer. Prior to this, Simcox was director of US health care strategy, partnerships, and product development for AT&T. He also served as healthcare practice leader at Logicalis US, a global IT firm.
