Three-year-old Donovan Weisgarber is one of those patients. When he was born he seemed perfectly healthy. But within weeks, it became clear something was terribly wrong.
When DocSend conducted this study previously, we found that the average length of a Series seed or pre-seed was about 11-15 weeks. In fact, according to our research, if you’re in the United States and you’re sending your pitch deck to investors, you can expect about 50 percent of your views to come in just the first nine days. You’ll also hit 75 percent of your visits in just over a month, which is very much in line with the 11-15 week average window.
But as Casper grew, competitors saw an easy opportunity and rushed in, with an average of one new “bed-in-a-box” company launching per week between 2015 and 2018. There are now 175 competitors in the market, according to GoodBed, a mattress comparison website. There are even copycats from the older mattress companies, like “Cocoon by Sealy.”
The fight in Russia was a rare three-round main event because it was a rescheduled three-rounder from three weeks ago, a move made after Magomedsharipov had to pull out with a staph infection. He and Kattar originally were scheduled to meet in Boston, 30 miles from Kattar's Massachusetts hometown, but the fight was postponed until this weekend and moved 4,466 miles to CSKA Arena in Moscow. That's a good 1,000 miles from Magomedsharipov's home in Dagestan, but it still played out like a home game for him.
A US federal court said this week it will allow 10x Genomics to provide Vanderbilt University’s Vaccine Center with a new Chromium instrument configured to run GEM microfluidic chips to help respond to the 2019-nCoV coronavirus outbreak. 10x Genomics has been prohibited from selling so-called legacy instruments under an injunction issued by the US District Court for the District of Delaware, but the firm has been granted a one-time exception. Bio-Rad Laboratories, the plaintiff in the patent infringement suit that led to the injunction, agreed to the arrangement. Vanderbilt’s Vaccine Center requested the instrument to run 10x’s single-cell immune profiling assay on control samples, after it moved its existing Chromium instrument into a contained environment.
Yet in the week since the formerly obscure senator assumed power, Áñez has acted like anything but a caretaker. She’s been putting her own ideological stamp on South America’s poorest nation as she pursues the opposition’s long-held dream of undoing nearly 14 years of socialist rule under former president Evo Morales.
Last week, the price of a single Bitcoin floated around the NZ$15,000 mark. But on May 22, 2010, when Hanyecz posted his plea for pizza, 10,000 Bitcoins were worth just US$40. A student, Jeremy Sturdivant, took him up on his offer, accepting the Bitcoin and placing an order at a Papa John’s pizza outlet for Hanyecz.
Communities, companies and individuals experience the disruptions in different ways and at different times. In the US, as late as March 18—a full week after Italy’s crisis had become dire, days after six California counties had been given the order to shelter in place and the day after Ohio canceled its primary elections—some citizens could be heard complaining about the overreaction, others were still decrying the massive hoax being perpetrated, and others were simply wishing away the situation and attempting to maintain a normal schedule. In other words, while some were still in the first stage, others were entering (if not well into) the fourth stage.
Fix and Fogg has been around since 2014. It’s not in an industry you’d think had a gap in the market, but Jewell – drawing inspiration (and the company’s name) from adventure novel Around the World in Eighty Days – decided to embark on his own adventure, selling homemade peanut butter at the local farmers’ market. From 30 jars or so a week Fix and Fogg is now stocked widely across New Zealand, and demand from Kiwis across the ditch means its now being sold there too.
