Dayvigo was approved for the treatment of insomnia in adults who demonstrated difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. Drug makers believe the drug may be particularly beneficial to seniors suffering from sleep problems related to mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease.

The company has already made approval submissions for Dayvigo in Japan and Canada and is currently testing the drug in other sleep disorders including in Alzheimer’s patients.

The drug is also being developed by Intra-Cellular for other indications including bipolar depression, depressive disorders and agitation in patients with Alzheimer’s disease.

The Femtech movement is progressing into a more intersectional territory, where otherwise non-female exclusive issues meet the specific needs of the female biology.
